The International Society of Computational biology and African Society of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology present the ISCB Africa ASBCB joint conference on Bioinformatics of Infectious Diseases, (http://www.iscb.org/iscbafrica2009/) in Bamako, Mali. The main conference is taking place 30 November - 03 December, 2009, followed
by two days of hands-on training workshops. This conference is supported by the Malaria Research and Training Center, University of Bamako (Mali), and includes a full day symposium focusing on the systems view of biological organisms that is sponsored by the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 05 AUGUST 2009
ACCEPTANCE: 01 OCTOBER 2009
ISCB Africa ASBCB will feature oral presentations selected from
abstract submissions. Selected abstracts will be invited to submit
full papers to the journal Infection, Genetics and Evolution. At least
one author of each accepted abstract must register for the conference.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 5 AUGUST 2009
ACCEPTANCE: 1 OCTOBER 2009
Abstract submissions not selected for oral presentations or abstracts
requested for posters are sought for research conveying a scientific
result in any aspect of bioinformatics and computational biology of
infectious diseases, hosts and vectors. At least one author of each
accepted poster must register for the conference.
WORKSHOPS
ISCB Africa ASBCB will feature two days of workshops taking place 4-5 December. These workshops will focus on well-established topics relevant to bioinformatics of infectious diseases. Participants should expect to be trained well enough in these workshops to return to their local labs and institutes to share their training with colleagues and
peers.
ASBCB BIENNIAL GENERAL MEETING
The General Business Meeting of ASBCB will be held during ISCB Africa ASBCB.
